Open Book Club meetings, April 19 and May 3

This month's topic is humour. People say that laughter is the best medicine, and we agree.

On April 19 members met and talked about funny situations and stories.

On May 3 Lara Kondić, Maja Vukičević and Zoa Purić read their essays about homour. We had an interesting conversation about different kinds of humour and why it is so important.

Here is a quote from Lara's essay about humour:

" ... So that smile has been in their family for thousands of years. Maybe it is still in some families - maybe in yours, and maybe you will never know if it is. Look for it, I'm sure you can find it, you just need to smile and never stop. "

Open Book Club meeting, March 22

Open Book Club meeting, March 15

This month's topic is the role of women in family, friendship and in creating home.

Today the members of the club have watched  a computer-animated science fiction comedy-adventure film Home.

Different characters in the film show us the importance of love- in family, between friends, neighbours and what we are all capable of to protect the ones we love.

Open Book Club meeting, February 8

Zoa Purić 5.c and Maja Vukičević 6.a read their essays about love.

Later, they were divided in pairs and created love stories.

Maja and Zoa found inspiration in Maja's essay and they wrote a short story in StoryBird. Click on the photo below and read it.

The second pair Marijeta Lalić and Sara Mančev made a comic using web tool Make Beliefs Comix.

RING FOR LOVE

When we think about February, most of us think about St Valentine's day. We are no different!

There have been many famous quotes about love throughout history to explain the true meaning of love.

On our Book Club meeting we tried to discuss the same question. Participants chose several love quotes and had one minute to explain them.

Of course, the secrets of love are not easy to explain but one thing is certain, you can always ring for love.

Open Book Club meeting, January 25

Today, Open Book Club members learned to create story and poem using digital app StoryBird.

Two pupils (4th grade) Sara Mančev and Marijeta Lalić made a nice poem.

Students (7th & 8th grade)

Karla Saratlija, Lara Penović, Karla Čaljkušić and Margarita Šunjić made an interesting story.

It wasn’t easy but it was surely creative and we had loads of fun! Enjoy reading on the link below 🤓

Thursday, October 5th

Our moderators Karla Čaljkušić and Tea Čikeš opened the first meeting of the Open Book Club. They welcomed the audience and presented the theme of the month and authors.

Mia Bebić and Ana Radmilo were the first authors to read their story. They see teachers as superheroes who do everything to help their students.

Ana Dželalija thinks that there are three types of teachers. The first type is a teacher who isn't that involved, or demanding; he just wants his students to be quiet and copy from the blackboard into their notebooks. The second type is a teacher who is joking all the time and teaches through fun. The third type is a teacher who is working hard and who prepares his students for future life.

Ana Primorac described two of her favourite teachers. One of them is always busy, preparing new projects and activities for the students. The other one is more easy-going and jokes a lot. Ana says that her teachers inspire her to be a better student and maybe one day she will also be a teacher.

After the reading, audience had a task to draw a teacher from their favourite story. Authors helped them with their suggestions.

These are the final results ...
