Football Club Hajduk was founded on 13th February 1911 by a group of four students from Split who were studying at the university in Prague. 

Professor Josip Barač suggested the name Hajduk for the club, the name it still proudly bears to the present day.

The name Hajduk symolises what is the best in our people: bravery, humanity, friendship, love of freedom and protection of the weak.

The first official game was played against another local team, Calcio Spalato, beaten by Hajduk by 9:0.

The first goal was scored by Šime Raunig, as the story goes, with his knee.

The story of Hajduk cannot be told without its fans. They are called Torcida. It is the oldest fan group in Europe formed on 28th October 1950. The slogan of the fans is "Hajduk lives forever". 

Many famous players have played in Hajduk. One of them is Marko Livaja, the current favourite of us, children, as well as of Torcida.
